These Terms govern the Bordera Rewards programme and the Bordera Points earned through it. They form part of your agreement with Bordera and sit alongside our Terms of Service and Privacy Policy. By taking part in the programme you agree to these Terms.
Different parts of this programme have different conditions. Read the one that applies to you.
To earn and redeem Points as a sender you must hold a Bordera account that has completed identity verification, and keep that account in good standing under our Terms of Service.
Recipients of transfers in India and the Philippines can earn Points under section 3. Recipients are not required to be US residents. To earn and hold Points, a recipient must open their own Bordera account and complete identity verification in their country.
To earn referral Points you must be a Bordera account holder who is , with identity verification complete.
Business, commercial and agent accounts are not eligible unless we agree otherwise in writing. Enrolment is automatic. You join the programme when your account is verified, and there is no separate sign-up or fee.
You receive a one-off award of 5,000 Bordera Points when you successfully complete identity verification. This is awarded once per person, not once per account.
You earn 13 Bordera Points for every $10 of principal sent on an eligible transfer, calculated on the amount sent before fees and taxes, and rounded down to the nearest whole Point. There is no minimum transfer size for a sender. You earn on every eligible transfer.
Worked example: You send $250 and earn 325 Points. You send $1,000 and earn 1,300 Points.
Points are credited after the qualifying transfer completes. Until then they may show as pending, and pending Points cannot be redeemed.
If a transfer is cancelled, refunded, reversed or charged back, the Points earned on it are reversed. If those Points have already been redeemed, we may recover the value from your future Points or charge the fee they were used to offset.
An eligible recipient can earn 2 Bordera Points for every $10 received, on qualifying transfers of $250 or more.
Transfers below $250 do not earn recipient Points. The sender still earns their own Points on those transfers under section 2.
Recipients do not receive additional money. They earn Bordera Points, which are promotional reward points with no cash, monetary or withdrawal value. The amount paid out on a transfer is not changed by this programme.
Recipient Points are reversed if the transfer is cancelled or reversed.
You earn 5,000 Bordera Points when someone you refer completes a qualifying transfer.
Someone new to Bordera who signs up through your link, completes onboarding, and passes identity verification.
Their first eligible transfer of $100 or more.
Points credited after qualifying transfer completes. Maximum of 10 eligible invites per user.
Self-invites, duplicate/fictitious accounts, shared device/payment excluded. Reversed if transfer cancelled.
Bordera Points are promotional reward points provided at our discretion. They can be applied toward eligible Bordera transfer fees and nothing else.
Any attempt to sell or transfer Points is void, and we may cancel the Points involved.
1,000 Bordera Points equal $1.00 toward an eligible Bordera transfer fee.
Points may be applied only to Bordera transfer fees. They cannot be applied to the amount you are sending, to exchange rate costs, to taxes including the US remittance excise tax, or to any third party charge.
A cap applies to how much of an eligible fee Points can cover: up to 50% can be covered against the transfer fee.
Redemption is voluntary and chosen by you when authorising a transfer. Once a transfer is authorised, redeemed Points cannot be returned unless the transfer is cancelled or reversed. There is no cash back on any unused portion.
Bordera Points expire 12 months after the last qualifying activity on your account. Qualifying activity means completing a transfer, earning Points or redeeming Points. Logging in is not qualifying activity.
We will give you at least 30 days notice before Points expire, by email to the address on your account.
Unredeemed Points are forfeited without compensation when an account is closed, and when the programme ends under section 10.
Founding Members is a separate, temporary offer for people who join the Bordera waitlist before we open. It closes when we launch.
It is not part of Bordera Points. It does not earn Points, it does not count toward any cap or level, and it is governed by this section rather than by sections 2 to 7.
What you receive: 5,000 Bordera Points, credited after identity verification succeeds, which can be applied toward qualifying Bordera transfer fees.
We may withdraw or change this offer at any time.
We may suspend your participation, cancel Points, refuse a redemption or close your account if we reasonably believe you have abused the programme, opened more than one account to earn more than once, created accounts to claim referral Points, provided false or stolen information, breached our Terms of Service or any applicable law including anti money laundering and sanctions requirements, or attempted to transfer Points. Points removed under this section are not restored.
We may change these Terms, the earning rates, the redemption value or any other part of the programme, and we may suspend or end it.
For changes that reduce the value of Points you already hold, or that end the programme, we will give at least 15 days notice by email and on this page, and you will have that period to redeem Points you are eligible to redeem. Changes to future earning rates take effect from the date in the notice and do not affect Points already credited.
Rewards may be reportable income. You are responsible for any tax arising from your participation. We do not give tax advice. Where we are required by law to report the value of rewards, or to collect information in order to do so, you agree to provide what we reasonably request.
Your Points balance is shown in your Bordera account and is the record we rely on. If you think it is wrong, contact us within 24 hours of the activity. We may correct any error at any time, including removing Points credited in error.
The programme is provided as is. To the fullest extent permitted by law we are not liable for loss arising from a change to rates or redemption value, the expiry or forfeiture of Points, the suspension or ending of the programme, or any interruption to earning or redemption. Nothing here limits liability that cannot lawfully be limited, or any right you have under applicable consumer protection law.
These Terms are governed by the laws of the United States. The dispute resolution provisions of the Bordera Terms of Service apply. If any part is unenforceable, the rest continues to apply.
